Burt Reynolds to Appear at Fall Florida AutoFest in Lakeland

Carlisle Events has been promoting automotive events in Florida since the fall of 2012 when it hosted Fall AutoFest in Zephyrhills.  After three years and six increasingly popular events, the Pennsylvania-based company had no choice but to move to a modern day, large scale facility.  With the SUN ‘n FUN complex in Lakeland tapped as its new home, Carlisle Events is preparing to host Fall Florida AutoFest, November 12-15.  This event already hosts a bevy of automotive and aeronautical excitement and now, Carlisle Events is pleased to announce a two-day appearance by the legendary Burt Reynolds.

Reynolds is a long-time star of stage and screen, appearing in nearly 200 films including Stroker Ace,HooperBoogie NightsMystery AlaskaDeliverance,Longest YardDukes of Hazzard and Cannonball Run. He was a popular guest host on The Tonight Show and starred in the television series Out of this World and the fondly remembered Evening Shade, which is considered one of the best comedies ever written.  Although Reynolds’ name and face has graced many worthy movies, he will forever be remembered as the charming, devil-may-care Bo “Bandit” Darville in the 1977 pop culture hit Smokey and the Bandit.

Still a working actor at the age of 79, Reynolds has a number of movies due to be released in the next year. He continues to pursue his love of teaching at The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre. Recently, Reynolds was awarded both the Georgia Film Legend Award and the Film Florida Legends Tourism Ambassador Award. In September he became the only actor to be inducted into the Stuntman Hall of Fame. Reynolds is actively involved in charity work including a partnership with the Dream Giveaway Sweepstakes.  His association with the Dream Giveaway team is partially what brings him to Fall AutoFest.  He would love to see one of his fans win the beautifully restored and autographed 1979 Trans Am being offered through the Bandit Dream Giveaway Sweepstakes, proceeds from which will benefit a number of worthwhile charities as well as the building fund of the Burt Reynolds Institute.

This is actually the second time that Carlisle Events is doing business with Reynolds in 2015.  Earlier in the year, as part of Spring Carlisle and its auction, the Carlisle Auctions team sold for $181,900, a 1977 Bandit Trans Am that was owned by none other than Reynolds himself.  The sale gained international attention and proved to be the top selling car of the spring auction.

Along with the Bandit Dream Giveaway Trans Am, the Bandit himself and tens of thousands of guests, the Smokey and the Bandit theme will continue with a replica of the Snowman’s rig from the movie as well as a replica police car representing one that Jackie Gleason/Sheriff Buford T. Justice drove.  In all, it’ll be a weekend for not only car lovers but also movie lovers and fans of Burt Reynolds alike.

Reynolds will be onsite Friday and Saturday of Fall Florida AutoFest hosting multiple autograph sessions.  Friday’s session is from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday’s is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  In addition, Reynolds will return to the complex after a brief break Saturday evening from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. to introduce a drive-in movie screening of Smokey and the Bandit.  An autograph with Reynolds is free, but limited per person and a fee will apply for any merchandise purchased at the signing.  Carlisle Events anticipates a line, so a "Bandit Pass" has also been established.  For a donation to the Dream Giveaway Sweepstakes and the Bandit Dream Giveaway ($25), guests can move to the front of the line for the one on one with Reynolds.  Details on Fall Florida AutoFest can be found at www.CarlisleEvents.com

'40 Nights' VFX supervisor works toward 'seamless realism'

“My goal, what excites me the most in this art, is taking an idea and giving it life,” explained Brian Vroman, the VFX Supervisor for the recently completed faith-based feature film, '40 Nights,' slated for a March 2016 release by Lightworx Entertainment (Nashville, Tenn.) and Collective Development Inc. (Lansing, Mich.).

The 26-year-old, whose business, Vroman Arts of Owosso, Mich., is putting its first major VFX stamp on a feature film. “It's no different than long ago when sculptors would take a block of stone and chisel away until something captivating and inspiring arose,” said Vroman. “Except now, our tools are a little better,” he adds smiling.

During the physically demanding '40 Nights' shoot in the desert of Yuma, Ariz. in March, Vroman was at a distinct advantage for doing VFX because he doubled as the location sound mixer.

“Sure it helped, it was huge,” said Vroman. “I was on-set every day and was hands-on with every set up that would require my abilities after we got back to Michigan. The shoot was a challenge because of the heat, what the desert presented (wind, sand, treacherous terrain, awareness of snakes, spiders and other critters, planes, trains and automobiles), but I loved it. We've got a great film on our hands, so proud to be a part of it.”

DJ Perry, CDI's Chief Executive Officer (who also plays Jesus in '40 Nights') said Vroman already has limited work with the company. “Mr. Vroman (Brian) has worked computer FX on a few CDI- associated films such as WASTELAND and BESTSELLER. We're proud to have him supervising VFX on '40 Nights' and we look forward to a continued relationship with Vroman Arts.”

Despite his youth, Vroman is multi-talented and experienced. He offers a long list of services, accomplishments and capabilities. Everything from video capture, lighting, crane operation, voice over talent and DVD creation (linking/motion/sound effects/menu creation) to After Effects, 3D model animation, 2D-3D logo extrusion/animation and, of course, visual effects and compositing.

“I pride myself in not only learning, growing and honing my skills as an artist on my own, but I love referencing and blending today's movies and tutorials in with what I can learn from others,” explains Vroman. “My goal is to grow exponentially as an artist by using this template of resources. And that leads to every artist's goal in this craft, to leave the audience unknowing of what was 'real' and what was 'VFX.' ”

In 'Vroman's VFX World,' as in '40 Nights,' where he says “the only limit to creativity is the effectiveness of the machine one is working with,” the audience will likely ask itself more than once - “is that VFX or did they film scenes outside of Yuma? Maybe in Malta? Or Jerusalem?”

Better yet, and the end game of VFX, is that the audience will be so engrossed in the story, all elements will flow 'seamlessly.'

Living Miracles Publications Announces the Release of Quantum Forgiveness: Physics, Meet Jesus by Bestselling Author and Mystic, David Hoffmeister

Living Miracles Publications is proud to announce the release of bestselling author, David Hoffmeister’s newest book, available in September, 2015. Immediately after publishing, Amazon honored Quantum Forgiveness: Physics, Meet Jesus with the top bestselling status in three categories.

David Hoffmeister is world-renowned as a mystic and A Course in Miracles (ACIM) expert. In this new book, he uses seven mind-expanding movies as modern-day parables to guide readers into an experience of Quantum Forgiveness. This book is a good news story of self-empowerment and personal awakening. Using movies as teaching tools, non-dual expert and teacher, David Hoffmeister, takes one into a vast experience of Oneness and helps them access the field of pure potentiality.

Take forgiveness as taught by Jesus 2,000 years ago, the science of the material universe as understood by Quantum Physics, and movie-watching as a spiritual tool. Combine that with the clarity of mystic David Hoffmeister, a world-renowned teacher of A Course in Miracles (ACIM), and you have an insightful and original book for awakening to permanent Peace.

According to Hoffmeister, “This is not forgiveness the way the world teaches it, which is to believe that someone has done us wrong and we have to find a way to bless them. With Quantum Forgiveness, we start to realize that we were mistaken about everything we have ever perceived. This opens the gateway to healing, the gateway to true freedom.”

Because of this perspective, Quantum Forgiveness: Physics, Meet Jesus is a useful and important book. It offers a practical use of Quantum Physics with the release of false expectations based on an already disproven Newtonian world view. It’s been decades since the pioneers of quantum physics transcended the scientific method, yet only now are we ready for experiencing reality exactly as it is.

Gabrielle Bernstein, New York Times best-selling author of Miracles Now said the following about this work, “David Hoffmeister is a beautiful teacher of A Course in Miracles. In his new book, Quantum Forgiveness: Physics, Meet Jesus, he offers a unique and powerful pathway for transcending fear and strengthening your miracle mindset. I recommend this book to anyone on a committed spiritual path. I absolutely adore David and all of his work!”

Whatever issues people are facing today, many feel that Hoffmeister’s easily accessible book can be a powerful guide. To learn more about Quantum Forgiveness: Physics, Meet Jesus, go to:http://davidhoffmeister.com/quantum-forgiveness/

Star Trek Alums ‘Boldly Go’ Into New Medical Comedy

The interstellar duo of Marina Sirtis, (Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS, Crash) best known for her role as Deanna Troi in Star Trek: The Next Generation and its film franchise, and former co-star, Lt. Worf actor Michael Dorn, (Castle, Heroes, Ted 2) have embarked on a new mission with the comedy Internity. The cosmic pair plans to make Internity the first actor-created, fan-funded television series pilot bought by a major network.

Internity follows a misfit team of newbie doctors navigating “intern hell,” led by Dr. Nate, a pop culture fanboy who’s obsessed with TV reruns and prone to dream sequences featuring actual cast members from his favorite old shows in guest appearances.

Sirtis stars as Dr. Camila Chivari, who at age 50, isn’t the typical first year intern. After a messy divorce, Chivari returned to medical school to pursue her long-held ambition of becoming a doctor. Sirtis says, “I find the idea of someone starting over at 50 very compelling. It takes guts to embark on a new journey at an age most people are thinking about retirement. It's rare to be offered such an exciting and rewarding role, so I don't care how we fund it. I'm in!“

Dorn will direct the pilot and make a special appearance reprising his and Sirtis’ iconic sci-fi roles in a special flashback scene. “I’m always looking to break new ground. With this show, we can,” Dorn said.Internity also stars sitcom staples Richard Ruccolo (Two Guys, a Girl & a Pizza Place, Rita Rocks, Legit) and Carla Jimenez, (Last Man Standing, Raising Hope, Nacho Libre) along with veteran actorJim Beaver (Supernatural, DeadwoodCrimson Peak) and Joey Adams (Bones, Body of Proof, Broadway theater).

Adams is writer-creator and will co-produce with Jerald Silverhardt (All The Right Moves, Marker, Fish Dont Blink). Additional casting by Christine Sheaks, C.S.A. (Boogie Nights, Scary Movie, Fargo) will be announced shortly. Silverhardt says, “Joey wrote a beautifully layered, funny show. It’s got comedy, it’s got drama and it’s different.”

Beaver adds, “I like to work on good things, even if there aren’t millions of dollars involved. A really well-thought-out and exciting crowdfunded project is in some ways a greater draw than playing my 481st country sheriff. That’s why I wanted to be part of Internity. It’s a terrific script, and terrific character, and it’s the kind of stuff I don’t always get to play.”

“Actors have been producing their work since the days of Charlie Chaplin,” Adams says. “But, actors taking that work directly to their audience to finance it? This is the future.”

To make history, the team must first raise at least $100,000 via crowdfunding platformwww.indiegogo.com to fund their pilot. “Crowdfunding, simply put, is investing in dreams,” Adams said. “Once people get to know us and see how much we all believe in this show, I think they’ll want to help us play doctors on TV.”
