"THE SAMARITANS" ARE READY TO POSSESS YOU FULL OF VENGEANCE IN NEW YORK CITY

Award-Winning Team To Have Premiere In New York City

The Thrilling new feature film "The Samaritans" will have it's long awaited New York City Premiere tonight with a star studded after party at new hotspot The VNYL! We have been fortunate enough to view this film, this is one of the most creepy, scary, heart pounding films we have seen in a long time. Trying to put into words what we saw unfold was just pure mayhem. This may possibly be the most fearful, shocking, frightening film of the decade. The Samaritans is so shocking, it will keep your mind drenched with paranormal fear for days.

Lets break down this little gem, first of all the ensemble cast is stellar! The whole movie is carried by this group of four creepy cast members. They keep you so engaged its almost like you can't wait to hear what they say next and can't help to wonder what sickening thing they may do, to say the least. Doug Bollinger from (Waltzing Anna & Mail Order Bride) fame directs & writes this piece of insanity, while also dubbing as a cast member. He keeps the cast flowing and not once do you lose engagement in this 75 minute thrill ride. So many things could have went wrong in the making of this film. When you watch it you will understand, however everything seems to magically fall into place with this one from start to finish and WHAT A FINISH it is.
Bollinger delivers with a outstanding performance. He adds some minimal relief at moments with some comedic remarks then its right back to the disturbed genius he is and reels you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Keith Collins (The Evangelist) who inked the story of this freak show, does his usual and takes us to such a elevated dark place. His character is so eerie he just gives you the chills makes you uncomfortable and uneasy while you squirm in your seat. Collins is very frightening in this film.

Newcomer Annelise Nielsen delivers a extremely fearful performance. She keeps you guessing and in fear of what is going to happen next. Every moment Nielsen gives to the screen is astonishing. A top notch show.

Timothy Laurel Harrison (Out of my hand) brings in such shock. Harrison really goes for it in this film and is so believable and scary rounding out this ensemble. Giving the audience many chills with the way she conveys her emotions to the screen. Harrison is fantastic in this film!

For a film that boasts "No good deed goes unpunished" really delivers. Be on the look out for this one when its released you won't be disappointed. Good luck New York City The Samaritans are coming for you!!

Angela Sauer to Star in Sci-Fi Feature Quantum Theory

8 Sided Films proudly announces the attachment of celebrated actor Angela Sauer in their upcoming science-fiction heist movie Quantum Theory. Playing the part of mad scientist and inventor Dr. Chelsea Barrington, Sauer assumes the film's leading role opposite co-star Elinor Gunn as Barrington's pragmatic partner in research Dr. Gertrude "Roe" Monroe. "I can't think of another hard science fiction film with female co-leads, and I'm honored to be playing one of them," explains Sauer. "It's wonderful to see the contrast between these two women, proving that there isn't just one generic type of 'strong female character' as Hollywood so often leads us to believe."

In Quantum Theory, Dr. Barrington and Dr. Monroe build a prototype with the power to alter reality itself. When a sinister defense contractor steals the device, only Chelsea and Roe can save humanity and reality itself from a dark, totalitarian future. Director Tennyson E. Stead clarifies the film's casting: "Very few actors are deft enough to force Elinor Gunn to keep up, and that's what our leading lady has to do. Beyond this, Angela Sauer brings a sense of mad science to the script that makes the film far more dangerous and fun than even we knew it was. We're lucky to have her!"

Angela Sauer is a working commercial actor, and a constant presence in the thriving Los Angeles classical theater scene. Director Tennyson E. Stead is a founding member of 8 Sided Films, and most recently the writer and director of the first season of the company's Cold War science-fiction webseries, Declassified. 8 Sided Films is a repertory film company, built on an ensemble approach to excellence in filmmaking and strength in community-building.

Romantic Comedy "Living Room Coffin" in Wide VOD Release

The charming comedy with the unusual name, Living Room Coffin, opens in wide release today on Amazon Direct Video, and will be available on iTunes and GooglePlay later this month.

Living Room Coffin stars Jennifer Prediger (Apartment Troubles, Red Flag, Infinity Baby) as Iris, an introverted 9-1-1 operator, whose life is turned upside down when an empty coffin is delivered to her house by two dimwitted UPS workers (Linas Phillips, Rainbow Time, Manson Family Vacation, and Johnny Pemberton, Ant-Man, 21 Jump Street). At first, Iris thinks the coffin is a misguided gift from her ex-boyfriend, Seth (Blake Berris, Breaking Bad, Highway). But when Seth offers credible deniability, Iris makes it her mission to find out who sent her the coffin and what it means. Berris's still-smitten ex-boyfriend and Rémy Bennett (The Wolf of Wall Street, Newly Single) as Iris's tactless but well-meaning best friend both offer satirical foils to Iris's focused seriousness. Cameos by Mark Boone Jr. (Sons of Anarchy, Birth of a Nation) and Richard Riehle (The Man from Earth), add subtle hilarity to Iris's postal odyssey.

"When I began to write the script for Living Room Coffin," says first-time feature director Michael Sarrow, "I took out my trusty pad of Post-Its, and stuck a quote to my computer: If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you. – Oscar Wilde.

"I wanted to make a film where the hero could truly explore and confront her own mortality. So in the proud tradition of absurdist theatre, I decided comedy would be the way to go. The surreal premise infused the story with a mix of vaudevillian broad comedy, fast-paced banter, and existentialist themes, heavily influenced by Samuel Beckett, Eugene Ionesco, and Tom Stoppard."

Living Room Coffin has yet to be reviewed, but Sarrow's short film, This is Lipstick! won the Spirit of Independence award at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. According to Variety's Peter Debruge in a review of Uncle Kent, lead actress Jennifer Prediger "has the makings of an indie star."

Leomark Studios, distributor and worldwide sales agent for Living Room Coffin, is a Los Angeles-based film production and distribution company with a catalogue of more than 200 titles. Recent Leomark releases include Harold Buttleman: Daredevil Stuntman, starring Oscar nominee and SAG award winner John Hawkes (The Sessions, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Anita Barone (Curb Your Enthusiasm), and Karen Black (Easy Rider).

Peter Alexander's "The Centenarian" Wins At Hollywood Film Festival

Student filmmaker, Peter Alexander captured two awards in the Student Category on Sunday evening, February 11, at the Hollywood Film Festival. The 20-year-old Florida Gulf Coast University student earned a statuette for Best Director, and his film, "The Centenarian" took home the Best Picture prize. Alexander wrote, directed and edited the film.

The Hollywood Film Festival ran from Wednesday, February 7 through Sunday, February 11. The awards ceremony was held at Etaru Restaurant in Hallandale Beach.

A buzz around the Davie, Florida resident's movie began early as festival goers and fellow filmmakers complimented the film's story, pacing, acting, and technical achievement given its somewhat notable non-existent budget. "The Centenarian" was in competition with several other films that had either the backing of schools, private contributions, or public fundraising support. Alexander relied almost exclusively on the commitment of his cast and crew. "It was all sweat equity and passion on this one. When you have friends who really dig in, it makes the entire experience worthwhile,"Alexander said, adding with a smile, "Next time, a budget would be nice."

"The Centenarian" tells the story of a bounty hunter who is blackmailed into doing the dirty work of a shadow government agency which fears their deep dark secret may soon spiral out of control.

The film was shot in South Florida in multiple locations including Fort Lauderdale and South Beach.

Johnathan Bezianis, a festival Best Actor nominee, plays bounty hunter, James Dawson, who is given the unenviable task of tracking down and killing the clandestine organization's top man gone rogue, Sean Burningham, portrayed by Oscar Fuentes. Alexander's father, Tom, plays the sinister group's ghostly leader, the Shadow Man, and also scored the film. Tristan Millman and Joshua Adorno also play members of the covert group.

Alexander continues a more than century-long legacy connected to film. His great-grandfather, Thomas, emigrated to the United States from Greece near the turn of the 20th Century building nickelodeons, then neighborhood theatres and movie palaces which he passed down to his sons. His grandsons continued in the business until 1988. After the theatres closed, Tom Alexander pursued film production and screenwriting as well as radio and music production. Now, Tom's son Peter keeps the tradition moving forward well into the 21st Century. "It's amazing and humbling to think my great-grandfather started his dream with a hand cranked movie projector in the silent era," Alexander adds. "Now, 110 years later, I'm making movies. It's really an honor to continue the family legacy."

From South Africa Via Hong Kong to Hollywood

Like so many young girls growing up and dreaming of a future successful Hollywood career, Page de la Harpe received her share of discouraging comments.  But unlike nearly all of the other would-be actors who allowed themselves to become discouraged, Page's reactions and responses were uniquely empowering and actually opened the doors to Hollywood.

"You'll never make it in Hollywood!" they said. "I already have" was Page's response.  In her mind, she was a successful actor.  Sure, she was a little girl growing up in South Africa and then Hong Kong, but she saw her future with great clarity.

"Millions try, and millions fail" they said.  Page simply smiled and wondered why those naysayers could not see her clear and undeniable future.  She attempted to enlighten them.  "Belief is very powerful," she explained. "Millions believe they can't become successful, so they fail.  They have a flawed belief system; It's a self-fulling prophesy.  Do you know about bumblebees?" she would ask.  "Bumblebees can't fly.  Really.  They are aerodynamically unsound."  Pretty impressive words for such a young girl, but Page was no ordinary girl.  "Their bodies are too big, and their wings are too small," she continued.  "It is scientifically impossible for bumblebees to fly."  At that point, Page remembers taking short dramatic pauses before delivering the memorable point of the story.  "You see," she would conclude, "bumblebees don't know its impossible, so they fly anyway!"

The point was missed by most.  That was okay.  Page understood.  Yes, she's a truly exceptional actor having achieved a level of talent that only a miniscule number of actors have ever reached.  "Exceptional talent is meaningless without an unshakable belief system," Page told us.

Apparently that belief system works.  It has certainly worked for this beautiful and uniquely talented actress.  From South Africa to Hong Kong, Page knew what her future held.  Now, as a young adult, she is living her dream and her destiny, here in Hollywood.  Her accomplishments are outstanding.  She has signed contracts now to star in three back-to-back feature films with two more starring roles offered.

Page de la Harpe – coming soon to a theater near you.

Viral Sensation, "King of Nothing", Bob Pressner dead at 63

Viral Sensation Bob Pressner, passed away from unknown causes at the age of 63 at his home in Delray Beach, Florida on January 30th, 2018, days before his latest single, "American Dream, Vol 1" is set to launch.  After debuting the original version of "American Dream" at #12 on the Billboard Hot Rock Chart last year, which eventually climbed to #6.  The song, which captured the divisiveness of America during the Election and President Trumps Inauguration last year, also hit #1 on the Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart.

Known as the "King of Nothing," a nod to his first viral video hit on YouTube, which garnered over 20 million views, this retired stock broker, who survived the 1993 World Trade Center attacks and left Wall Street shortly thereafter, proved to everyone that you are never too old to follow your dreams.

In discussing the success of the  originally released song, Pressner said that he "wasn't trying to change the world.  I was just asking a simple question…What ever happened to the American Dream?  What has followed since then has completely blown me away." Ironically, at the time he was living his dream, "I didn't even know the song had hit the charts until after Billboard contacted me.  I released the song in January with little fanfare, and then suddenly it took off. The last thing I ever envisioned was to make the Billboard Top Ten."

Pressner's Music Manager, and Long Time Friend, Kurt Zendzian, feels honored to have help shaped Pressner's career and looks forward to releasing "American Dream, Vol 1" this week.  "If the only thing that I have accomplished in my life, is helping a 63-year-old man, achieve his life long dream of hitting the Billboard charts, releasing albums comprised of songs he wrote from his heart, then I've accomplished a lot. It's been an honor to work with Bob over the years, and I look forward to securing his legacy."

With America still on "lockdown", and daily "showdowns" continuing on the streets, in our courtrooms, and in the media, Pressner's original song and revised message being released on Friday is still as timely and impactful as when the first version of the song was released.

About Bob Pressner:

Bob Pressner has eight albums to his credit.  A former Wall Street Trader, Pressner left his day job after a truck bomb was detonated in New York City in 1993 underneath the World Trade Center, eight years before 9/11.  Pressner has performed throughout the United States, and has been a regular featured artist for the XFINITYSessions on Comcast's XFINITY On Demand. His music is authentic, honest, and gives his fans something to make "them think and reflect, something that's different from the stuff that's out there."

Considered the "first great troubadour" since Paul Simon and James Taylor, Pressner puts the focus on creating music that has substantial and significant messages.  His melodies stick to your ribs and his words inspire. "American Dream" doesn't differentiate from this, taking a hard look at the state of our country, and divisiveness surrounding the Trump presidency.

Oscar Nominee John Hawkes Indie Gem Hits VOD

Long before winning the SAG award for his role in the ensemble of Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, John Hawkes had his first leading role in Harold Buttleman: Daredevil Stuntman. But hardly anyone saw it. Rescanned and recut from its original 2003 film version, writer/director Francis Stokes's debut film is finally available for audiences to enjoy on major VOD platforms.

"Leomark Studios presents a beautiful re-scan from 35 mm film of the classic, award-winning comedy… Hawkes is Harold Buttleman, a sweet, charming and somewhat clueless small town tuxedo salesman who wants to be the next Evel Knievel, and he is willing to break every bone in his body to get there." (365Flicks) In true Jackass style, Harold believes he is on the brink of TV stardom: a three a.m. spot on local cable access TV. But Harold's parents want him to move out of their basement, and his girlfriend wants him to settle into a career selling bathtub parts. For Harold, it all depends on his big break. "One can't help but root for Harold, even though we all know he's an idiot." (Josh Pritchett, MoversShakersUnlimited)

Hawkes has some veteran comedic talents supporting him, including Karen Black (Easy Rider) in one of her last roles as Harold's mother, Anita Barone (Curb Your Enthusiasm), and Dan Castellaneta (The Simpsons). Stephan Falk, better known these days as an executive producer and writer on shows like Weeds and Orange is the New Black,  plays Harold's loyal best friend and cameraman, and the two together are "hilarious." (SpoilerFreeMovieSleuth)

A festival darling shown only briefly on YouTube when it was first released, this "endearing, very relatable piece of work" (Ben Bussey, WarpedPerspective) has otherwise languished on a shelf until now, when it finally gets an international release on major VOD platforms, including iTunes, Amazon, and GooglePlay.

Leomark Studios (http://leomarkstudios.com), distributor and worldwide sales agent for Buttleman, is a Los Angeles-based film production and distribution company with a catalogue of more than 200 titles. Recent Leomark releases include Kepler's Dream, starring Sean Patrick Flanery (Boondock Saints), Kelly Lynch (Mr. Mercedes), Holland Taylor (Legally Blonde), and Isabella Blake-Thomas (Once Upon a Time), which was Oscar short-listed for its theme song and score by Patrick Neil Doyle.

Could Shudan Wang be the Next "Bond Girl?"

Shudan Wang is one of the most extraordinary talents I have ever seen in our industry," multiple award-winning producer-director-writer-actor Raymond Forchion shared enthusiastically.

"She's a wonderful, unique actress and a very gifted martial artist," added celebrity producer-writer Barney Cohen. "Have you seen her videos?  She's mastered more martial arts weapons than I knew existed . . . This actress is well on her way to becoming a major star, a household name.  Shudan is unequalled.  She has mastered at least a dozen disciplines – a concert pianist at age five, a tremendously gifted martial artist, a brilliant actress, a beautiful person and so much more."

Feature film producer Donald F. Glut, the man who wrote the "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" novel and President of Pecosborn Productions, has been active in the film industry for decades.  "Shudan Wang is one of the most professional, honest, and dependable actors I have ever known," he admitted.  "There's no one else like her.  I am very impressed!"

Those are quotes from but a few of the one hundred plus entertainment industry professionals who are singing the praises of Shudan Wang. Hollywood seems genuinely excited to have Shudan as one of the industry's newest and brightest stars.

"Everyone believes you should play a major role in a James Bond movie," we said to Shudan at a recent red-carpet world premiere movie event.  "Will you be the next 'Bond girl?'"

Soft-spoken and humble, Shudan politely smiled.  "I will let you know when they ask me," she said, her smile broadening.

A major "name" producer gave us his impressions of Shudan Wang.  "Let's face it," he began, as if about to tell a great secret.  "Shudan is young, uniquely talented, and drop-dead gorgeous.  She is the 'fantasy woman' of just about every red-blooded male alive.  Her uniqueness includes the fact that women like and admire her; she's a strong woman who stands her ground and totally kicks ass when necessary.  She's a leader and an independent woman.  More importantly, she is a major star who is simply waiting for Hollywood to catch up – and she doesn't have long to wait."

The film--Blair's follow-up to his award-winning DEADLY REVISIONS--is a fast-paced, wacky romp in the vein of Shaun of the Dead and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil involving a friendly backyard gathering that goes hilariously awry when an unexpected guest arrives.  With a pickaxe.  And an attitude.  It's a madcap mix screwball comedy and slasher tropes that critics have hailed "Hilarious!", "Brilliant!" and "A Comedic Romp!" (Search My Trash FilmsiteThe Movie Sleuth and Geek Nerdery, respectively).

GARDEN PARTY MASSACRE is a PIX/SEE Productions film starring Andy Gates ("Grimm"), Nichole Bagby ("On The Rocks"), Lise Hart ("Deadly Revisions"), Gregory Blair ("Love That Girl"), Dawna Lee Heising ("Samurai Cop2: Deadly Vengeance"), Matt Weinglass ("Jimmy Kimmel Live!") and David Leeper.

Summer Hill Films announces the North American DVD and VOD release of indie flick, CHELSEA!

Summer Hill Films LLC, a U.S. distributor and international sales and licensing company, has announced the DVD and VOD release of the millennial romance film, CHELSEA.

In the film, when her best friend gets engaged and moves out of their apartment, Chelsea is left with more than an empty room. In her increasingly frustrating search to find a new roommate, Chelsea realizes that her life may not be shaping up to be the way she'd pictured it.

The film stars: Roxy Evensen (producer of Jersey Shore and Project Grizzly) in her breakout role, Jessica Shannon (General Hospital and the ABC Family series Baby Daddy), Donald Ian Black (Dr. Brinks & Dr. Brinks and narrator of the Netflix series The Toys That Made Us), and Michael James Nelson (YouTube Original series Rally).

Written and directed by Nick Fries and Bryan Johnson, Chelsea was nominated for Best Narrative Feature at the 2015 Queens World Film Festival as well as Best Actress for Roxy Evensen for her role as Chelsea.

Like the films of Kelly Reichardt or the Duplass Brothers, Chelsea highlights life's quieter moments and the struggle to move forward, even if you don't have a clue how. For this reason, the dialogue is largely improvised and the cinematography is intimate and familiar.

"Absolutely wonderful first release from this bright new directing team", says Ted Chalmers president of Summer Hill.

"They (Summer Hill) really take the headache out of the distributing game", says writer and director, Nick Fries.

Chelsea is now available in North America on VOD from Amazon Prime, Google Play, iTunes and Xbox as well as DVD. It is also available internationally, and Summer Hill Films attends all the major film sales markets including EFM, Marché du Film and AFM.

FilmFest Diva Yvonne McCormack Opens her award winning Women's International Film Festival on March 8th for International Women's Day

Women's Empowerment and the #MeToo movement have been a major part of news over the past several months, and with March being Women's History month, the award-winning Women's International Film Festival (WIFF) is happy to continue its mission of empowering women's visions, dreams and voicesTM by bringing WIFF to the Big Apple for the first time.WIFF 2018 opens with the New York Premiere of Culture of Fear starring Golden Globe Nominee Malcolm McDowell, arguably among the most dynamic and inventive of world-class actors.  Steven Bauer from Scarface and Showtime's Ray Donovan will also be on the red carpet. The director of the movie, Kayla Tabish, is a first-time female director who produced a prior film that premiered at Locarno and was featured at Vienna's Viennnale.

Known for her passion to bring women directors, producers and writers to the forefront of the film industry, WIFF Founder Yvonne McCormack-Lyons is excited about introducing her festival to the home of film, music and entertainment, New York City. The festival boasts over 50 films that are made by women, for women and those who love women. Most may or may not know, particularly in the #metoo revolution, that women make up less than 20 percent of film producers, [big and small screen] and even more disconcerting, less than 5 percent of film directors of which minority women are less than 3 percent [big and small screen].

Of the 50 films screening, more than 15 films are international, including Bachelor Girls (INDIA), A Girl of No Importance (ITALY), Anatomy of Violence (CANADA-INDIA) by Academy Award nominee, Deepa Mehta, Borders from Burkina Faso, and Luba from Canada.  One other worthwhile mention is  Anna F * *king Molnar (AUSTRIAN) – a film from the WIFF exchange program with the Austrian Film Institute.

More than 10 of this year's selection are written, directed or produced by black filmmakers. Of note, in his first lead role in a feature film is none other than Bryshire Gray, aka Yazz, (Empire's Hakeem Lyon) starring in a special screening for WIFF's closing film, CANAL STREET. Walking the red carpet for this film is Mykelti Williamson (Bubba-Forrest Gump, Yandy Smith – Love & Hip Hop and Juani Feliz). A film that is timely in its subject matter about the way young African-American males are treated in our justice system.

A More Perfect Union (http://wiff2018.com/film/to-a-more-perfect-union-us-v-windsor/) (USA) a documentary feature film about love, marriage and a fight for equality, featuring Rosie O'Donnell and See You Yesterday (http://www.wiff2018.com/film/see-you-yesterday) (USA), A Spike Lee Joint – a short film - written by Frederica Baileu, produced by Ashley Alexander and Executive Produced by the man himself. Another notable mention is a film by Chi-town Executive Producer Tressa Epps, Nothing like Thanksgiving (http://www.wiff2018.com/film/nothing-like-thanksgiving/) (USA), a compelling story about a successful business man, devoted father and husband, who after discovering he has cancer with only six months to live, embarks on a journey to do the unthinkable. The offerings are so amazing that it's hard to mention all; every #WIFFNYC film and ticket information can be found on the website, http://wiff2018.com
