The Vladar Company and BodyPower announce Generation Iron 2

The wait is over for the fans of "Generation Iron" and bodybuilding. The original docudrama was produced by the Vladar Company and grossed over 1 million dollars in the US domestic box office and became one of the highest grossing docs of 2013. It's a significant achievement for a documentary and a testament to the strong bodybuilding fan base.

The Vladar Company in association with Generation Iron Fitness Network® is pleased to announce that they forged a partnership with BodyPower to co-produce and release Generation Iron 2.

Generation Iron topped domestic home video charts (including iTunes and Amazon), played across premier platforms such as Netflix and ESPN and was released globally, becoming the first film to commercially cover the world of bodybuilding since Pumping Iron (1977).

The new film focuses on the next generation of bodybuilders and fitness personalities as they push their physiques to the "next" level, while generating mass appeal around the world. Official cast and details are soon to be announced.

BodyPower will serve as a co-production and exhibition partner to release the film globally in over 15 countries. The production will take place through fall and winter of 2016 and is scheduled to premiere first in the UK in May 2017.

The original production team from Generation Iron is creating the picture, Vlad Yudin will direct and Edwin Mejia is producing. Nick Orton and Ollie Upton of BodyPower will serve as Executive Producers.

Independent psycho-thriller BEYOND THE BRIDGE now available on Amazon Video

With six years in the making and a budget of a mere 10,000 euros, director Daniel P. Schenk's and director of photography Robert Staffl's self-financed debut feature finally found its international distribution on the Amazon Video-on-demand platform.

The movie was shot in Switzerland by a swiss-german crew, in English for the international market. It tells the story of young art student Marla Singer (Maya Schenk), who appears to have a bad drug experience and who gets thrown into a frightening journey between reality and delusion.

"For a low budget film, whose genre lies in-between, landing a distribution deal is nearly impossible.", says screenwriter and producer Schenk. "Beyond the Bridge is marketed as a psycho-thriller, but it's not a typical one. Distributors can't grasp it. Amazon Video is a great tool for indie filmmakers to get a film in front of its audience, no matter how unconventional it might be. Thanks to the technological advance and Amazon's broad customer base, BEYOND THE BRIDGE is now available worldwide, with one click."

The movie's premiere was held at the Unreal Film Fest in Memphis, USA on October 7th, 2015. It then screened at several international film festivals, like Morbido Fest in Mexico, Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Festival, and Berlin Independent Film Festival. On April 21st, 2016 a cinema tour started through selected german cinemas, accompanied by a Day-and-date release on the official website http://www.beyondthebridgemovie.com, where the movie could be streamed via VHX.TV. Kickstarter Campaign for A.G. Morgan's Screenplay of her Novel "Purple Angst"

 A.G. Morgan has begun a Kickstarter campaign for her project of turning her novel, Purple Angst, into a feature film screenplay. She is fundraising so that she and her collaborators can take the requisite time to transform her novel of love, friendship, and crippling anxiety into an independent film slated for the film festival circuit.

Morgan's debut novel, Purple Angst, is an excellent study of a topic too often ignored. Crippling anxiety leading to debilitating attacks and breakdowns is the major subject of this well-researched and written novel. Morgan shines a much-needed light on this affliction through her compelling and insightful story, while examining the nature of friendship, loss, betrayal, and anxiety reflective in the emotional core of this book.

"It has everything to make an outstanding movie, especially touching on how anxiety affects the characters and situations throughout the book," Morgan stated. "I want to share this message, especially with young adults."

Purple Angst is a story about friendship and the many trials one can endure with a best friend. The novel truly explains the many paths of laughter, fighting, adventure, and betrayal that can be taken from childhood to adulthood, and the inevitable limits in which friends push one another given life-changing events.

The Kickstarter Campaign will provide Morgan with the flexibility to write her screenplay without having to worry about finding funds or not being able to travel to where she and her collaborators can meet to create the script.

Sing Your Own Song: An Opera Love Story

he documentary Sing Your Own Song: an Opera Love Story, shows how a multi-generational group of Southern California opera singers – some of whom have performed together every Sunday night for fifty years – must find a way to keep their tradition alive when their performance venue is forced to close.  Audience members as well as performers relate how they first came to appreciate opera and how this group of strangers, people from all walks of life and of different generations, became a second family bonded together by their love of opera.

The film demonstrates how a passion for music can enrich our lives. One doesn't need to be an opera lover to be swept away by this passion and the commitment these singers bring to their art.  Anyone who has followed a dream and worked hard to make it come true will recognize a part of themselves in this story.

Producer/Director Anne Davis O'Neal is an award-winning theatre director.  SingYour Own Song: an Opera Love Story is her first documentary and she was virtually a "one person band," not only producing and directing, but also shooting and editing the movie.  Anne gained her technical background working in television production at Disney.  She has created promotional videos for nonprofit arts organizations, educational programs and live theatrical productions.   She has also filmed and edited short videos for fundraising campaigns on various crowdfunding platforms.

This very special evening will include the producer/director and some of the singers from the film to talk about the film and answer questions.  Join us Thursday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Library's Barth Community Room.  Light refreshments will be served.

Lake Forest Filmmaker's Latest Project Nominated For Two British Academy Scotland Awards

 Lake Forest resident and filmmaker Jim Kreutzer's latest project, "Tommy's Honour," was recently nominated in two major categories, Best Feature Film and Best Actor in a Feature Film (Jack Lowden), by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in Scotland. The awards honor the very best of film, television and games produced over the past year in Scotland.

The film, scheduled to be released in theaters in the U.S. on March 24, 2017 and internationally in the spring of 2017, was chosen to be the opening night event of the 70th Edinburgh Film Festival on June 15, 2016. Its' world premiere was the focal point of a red-carpet black-tie event of nearly 1,500 people.

The feature film based on the book "Tommy's Honour" was created and developed by Kreutzer following a visit to St. Andrews with an ill friend in 2010. He produced the film with his business partner, Keith Bank of Highland Park, Ill.

Roadside Attractions has acquired the U.S. rights to "Tommy's Honour," through a deal brokered by Bank. This included theatrical, DVD, VOD and pay rights. The Golf Channel secured basic cable rights. Beginning with the theatrical release, there will be strong synergies between Roadside, Golf Channel and NBC Sports Group to maximize exposure during televised golf tournaments, via its digital reach with sports fans and other key promotional opportunities. International sales are handled by Timeless Films.

In addition to his success with "Tommy's Honour," Kreutzer is also developing King Hawk Multi-Media, a feature film and television company. In this newly formed production and distribution entity, Kreutzer will serve as Co-CEO of Production. Kreutzer's new partner will be Scott J. Jones who will become the Co-CEO of Distribution. Jones is President of Artist View Entertainment, based in Los Angeles and has over 25 years of expertise in world-wide film distribution.

In anticipation of the launch of the King Hawk production arm, Kreutzer has several projects in various stages of development. These projects range from a television series set in Scotland to feature films set internationally in Australia and Canada.

Kreutzer's 25-year film career began when he was the executive producer and developer of the feature film "Fever Lake." In 2007, he founded Wind Chill Media Group, LLC (http://www.windchillmediagroup.com/) and has produced, developed and consulted on more than 10 feature films, including "Just Write," "Last Great Ride," "Big Brother Trouble," "Dexter Dickie" and "Ghost Club." Beautiful Brit Rocks the Red Carpet!

"Many in Hollywood 'talk the talk,' but very few 'walk the walk!" an entertainment reporter just relayed. "Lydia Backhouse is rocking the red carpet again!" he exclaimed as the crowd experienced actress Lydia Backhouse walking (and rocking!) yet another Hollywood world movie premiere red carpet.

Lydia was amongst the tens of millions of children who fantasized about growing up and becoming famous movie actors. Nearly everyone else gave up on their dreams and settled for "more sensible" choices. Not Lydia Backhouse! We asked her why.

Actors Hall of Fame Brings Shakespeare Classics Back to the Big Screen after 20 years!

All new productions of A MidSummer Night's DreamThe Taming of the Shrew and Romeo and Juliet were announced today by Rusty Citron, President of The Actors Hall of Fame.

The Women's International Film & Arts Festival Returns Home To Coconut Grove

Now, in its eleventh year, the top rated Women's International Film & Arts Festival (WIFF) features up to 30 films from around the world that are by women or about women. WIFF is known for its continued mission to address and bring solutions to the lack of representation, for too many years, of women behind the scenes in the film industry. The question supporters, members and directors of WIFF believe needs addressing is: "Why, after all these years, is it that women, still, comprise less than 20% of producers and occupy less than 5% of directorial chairs in the industry"?
