HOW TO BE A MENTALIST: WORLD RENOWNED MENTALIST CONCLUDES WORLD TOUR IN TIMES SQUARE

Ehud Segev, better known as “The Mentalizer”, has been covered by The Wall Street Journal, featured on NBC’s Phenomenon and NY1 for his incredible mentalist abilities. This week, Ehud returns to New York City for a stunning one-time only show to conclude his worldwide tour. The Mentalist will demonstrate mind control, lie detection and memory recollection to bring the audience on a full-blown trip to an alternate universe.
This year, Ehud traveled Europe, Africa and Asia to share his talent with the world—to high praise and popularity. His return to Manhattan will showcase how ‘magic’ continues to live on in a very real form as he ends his tour with a mind-boggling theatrical experience. Ehud explains that, “Although I will not reveal my entire arsenal of mind tricks, audiences will walk away knowing how to perform some amazing feats of the mind themselves.” During ‘How to be a Mentalist’, Ehud will intimately guide audiences to read facial gestures for lie detection, understand memory recollection vs. “imagination”, utilize mnemonic techniques and even experience mind control techniques.
With shows like CBS’s “The Mentalist” continuing to grow in popularity, Segev hopes to embrace audiences and provide them with a unique experience that not only demonstrates seemingly “psychic” abilities, like the ones seen on the television show, but actual highly developed senses and intuition.

Full details on the show are below and tickets are still available.

The Dragon Slayer’s Brush with Immortality

World Champion Body Building Icon and athletic nutritional supplement pioneer, Rich Gaspari (aka: The Dragon Slayer) will be honored on November 17, 2012 with the unveiling of his official portrait. This life-sized oil painting will adorn the new corporate headquarters of New Jersey based ‘Gaspari Nutrition’ (www.gasparinutrition.com) when construction of the new facility is complete.

Bob Bonham, owner and proprietor of ‘Strong and Shapely Gym’ (www.strong-and-shapely.com) in East Rutherford New Jersey, has privately commissioned this portrait to honor Mr. Gaspari’s commitment and contributions to the sport; particularly in his home state of New Jersey. When asked about this, Mr. Bonham offered, “Gaspari put New Jersey on the body building map twenty five years ago. He single handedly changed the look of the sport while creating an east coast Mecca for body builders. As Arnold Schwarzenegger had set the standard of the quintessential body in the 70’s, the arrival of Gaspari in the late 80’s changed that standard. Through an unparalleled understanding of nutrition and diet along with an amazing work ethic, Gaspari was the precursor to what we see on the world stage in body building today. For these contributions I thought it was time that he was recognized with a different type of trophy, one that would be more personal and that came from a fan as opposed to a panel of judges. This portrait will exist as a testament to Rich Gaspari’s achievements and will stand as an heirloom within his family for generations to come.”

World-renowned, international award winning artist Kevin Murphy, earned the commission for this monumental project. Bob explained “I became aware of Kevin’s work through artist, and common acquaintance, Richard Mog, who unknown to me at the time, worked as Kevin’s right hand man in the studio.

It’s amazing how things sometimes just work out. Until I began searching for an artist to paint the portrait, I was unaware that classical art of this extreme quality was still being created today, and in New Jersey, no less. His [Murphy] work has a feel of the old masters that is rarely available in this market, and it was just what I envisioned for the Rich Gaspari painting. There was no doubt once I saw Kevin’s work who I would commission for this important painting.” Bonham continued “It seemed only right to bring these two giants together for this project.”

The collaboration began in early September, Mr. Gaspari and artist Kevin Murphy met at The Art Academy of Hillsborough, (coined, Boro Art, www.boroart.us) in Hillsborough, NJ. The initial portrait sitting and a photo session to collect reference material, for what would eventually become the 48”x 66” oil painting, was completed at that time. “This was a wonderful opportunity for me” Kevin Murphy said, “I was a dedicated weightlifter in my late teens and twenties as well as a huge fan of Rich Gaspari through all of those years. I consider it a great honor, to be selected from all of the exceptional artists available."

In addition to the day to day running of his art school and other commissioned portrait work, Kevin Murphy had just a few weeks earlier welcomed ‘Killer Goose Films,’ (www.killergoosefilms.com) into the Academy to begin filming a documentary built around his students’ experiences at the school. However, with a major commission on the “Master’s easel,” the filming turned briefly to this project. Dale DeVino, director at Killer Goose stated “We’ve been at the Art Academy filming thejaw dropping work of the teenage students; but when we had the opportunity to document this high profile painting project from its inception, we jumped at the chance. I’m glad we did, because it has been a real experience to watch both Kevin (Murphy) and Rich (Mog) work together to bring this painting to life. I didn’t think I would be so affected by it, but it has been a vision to behold. We captured the entire painting process and will debut it at the unveiling. This experience has encouraged us to incorporate the Masters work into this documentary, a film which was originally meant to focus on his students.”

As the date of the unveiling approaches, the portrait stands nearly complete. “The painting has progressed beautifully from the initial sitting through to where we are just two weeks from delivery. Though Rich [Gaspari] sat in a bare studio for the portrait, the finished painting will depict a great many relevant adornments that were not present during the portrait sitting. It was no small task to track down reference and incorporate this imagery into the painting. Kevin further asserted, “ I am very happy with where it is currently, the image has a majesty to it that all portraits should exhibit. Portrait paintings are a form of immortality as they survive the sitter by many hundreds of years, and in that, should bare the strength of the sitter’s presence. There is still some work to be done, but we are on schedule and looking forward to the unveiling.”

The portrait unveiling will be held at:
Strong & Shapely Gym
150 Union Avenue, East Rutherford, NJ
Saturday, November 17th 2012
Opened to invited VIP guests at 1:00pm,
and to the public at 3:00 that same day.
Refreshments from ‘Muscle Maker Grill’ will be served.

Jana (AJ) Mattioli brought home Best Director in a Comedy Short 15 minutes or less. Elissa Goldstein came home with Best Supporting Actress in the same category.     Without notice, Clara quits her position as The Cup’s Coffee Shop manager. This causes flamboyant waiter, Jamie, (award winner Keith CollinsThe Meat Puppet) and the Drag Queen owner Bea Reasonable (Danny Logan as Dallas Dubois; Miss Fire Island 2011), to search for her replacement. Bea soon discovers over a series of terrible interviews that The Cup’s regulars aren’t exactly manager material. When all hope appears to be lost, Josh (Bobby WalkerCoffee and a Bite) enters the shop to apply for the position. The interview goes incredibly well, and Bea believes she’s found her replacement for Clara… but in a day where nothing has gone Bea’s way, can it really be that simple?

Side FX Breaks A Few Rules With "Man I Used to Know"

New music video climbing the charts shows a new side of Kim Cameron

Risk-taking indie band ‘Side FX’ is releasing their first music video for the album ‘Spin Me Ever After’ during their performance on Playboy’s radio program ‘Playmates Present.’ Within 24 hours, the video went viral hitting number 8 on the most viral videos and scored a number 55 on the YouTube charts. Using a single off the album ‘Man I Used to Know,’ lead singer Kim Cameron shows off her sultry side in a big way with this release with her man outfit consisting of black lacy undergarments.

Unlike some of the other Side FX music videos, the group decided to focus solely on the song’s story, shooting it in black and white, and leaving the viewers with a cliffhanger. “This is the first of a five-part series,” Cameron explains. “Like the album, the music ‘Spin Me Ever After’ videos are meant to be watched as a series.” While the group will release the videos one at a time, they are waiting to see if there is true interest in the story before sending the next one out to the Net.

Side FX is a known for pushing the limit with their musical sounds, all of which have paid off last year with 5 charting singles, 3 of which hit within the top 40 on Mediabase and Billboard. Their newest album has received glowing 5 out of 5 star reviews by numerous music critics across the country.

The music video series is referred to as a Spinning Romance, and is largely focused on Kim Cameron and her co-actor Keith Collins. Collins has appeared in numerous film, television, commercials, and national print ads. Collins received the coveted award for best actor at the 2012 Downbeach Film Festival Atlantic City Cinefest for his work in the soon to be released film "The Meat Puppet." Collins, no stranger to the big screen has been in films along side numerous Academy & Emmy Award nominees & Winners. He has a new TV show hitting the networks titled "The Coffee Shop" and has been featured on "Sex & the City," "Guiding Light," and has had a recurring role on Fuse TV's "The F List."

While this music video is the first to be released, it is actually takes place in the middle of the Spinning Romance storyline. “I’ve always believed that songs tell a story. With this new album, the stories behind them, and using film, I can actually show people what this album is about,” explains Cameron.

The Internet version will be released on October 12th, and an extended version will be available on cable TV towards the end of the month. The film was Directed and edited by Brandon Ruckdashel (actor and cinematographer), making his directorial debut and produced by Parule –Barua from Wide-Eyed Entertainment.

EVERYDAY HALF THE WORLD’S POPULATION DISAPPEARS

The votes are in: Film By Democracy’s first release is called The Halving, with all content determined entirely by fans.

Film by Democracy has handed all creative control over to the people who really matter in film – the audience. Pioneering 100% crowd-sourced filmmaking, Film by Democracy is in pre-production for its first release, a web series called The Halving. Fans are free to vote online and determine what happens when everyday, half the world’s population disappears, a premise submitted and voted on by Film by Democracy’s global community.

In developing The Halving, fans have so far voted for a sci-fi/fantasy focusing on social issues of corruption and inequality. The story will follow a group who find themselves the remaining few when the population stops disappearing. The main character is touted as “The Born Survivor” who is self-sufficient, organised and proactive.

Submissions are currently open to international filmmakers wishing to collaborate and contribute footage. Once all submissions, debate and voting is over - from genre and title to the actors and even the soundtrack - the audience will have determined every single creative aspect of The Halving.

Film by Democracy (FbD) is an ongoing experimental film project, the first to develop 100% fan-driven content. Run on people power and accessible to all, FbD strives to contest Hollywood standards and showcase more diverse stories, people and places. Aiming to foster greater innovation and championing creative risk, FbD allows fans to unleash their inner creativity, collaborate with like-minded people and express their filmic dreams.

The Halving will be Film by Democracy’s first release to be distributed online for free in 2013.

"Little Big Boy" To Be Released In August 2012

Little Big Boy, Kim Sønderholm’s tale of a film director working on his fourth film where things are not exactly going as planned, is after much anticipation finally being released August 21st 2012 to Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Little-Big-Boy-Stalker-Murders/dp/B0085X31AK/

Little Big Boy is, to say the least, a film like no other. It tells the story of acclaimed horror film director Jimmy Duncan, famous for his hot temper aswell as his very exploitative movies. Having witnessed the murder of his mother at the age of seven, Duncan grows up at an orphanage and as an adult works his way up in the movie industry.
Caught up in the downward spiral of his own success surrounded by movie reviewers who refuse to acknowledge his obvious talent, starlet wannabes with absolutely no talent, producers with little patience and people who will do anything and exploid anyone to become famous in an industry where you can count on noone, we follow Jimmy while working on his fourth feature film “Death Stalker”, which quickly turns into a descent into complete and utter madness as his leading lady leaves the production halfway through the shooting. This begins the insane fall of Jimmy Duncan.
All this while being haunting in his dreams by his childhood experiences.
Along the way we meet many familiar faces: Troma’s Lloyd Kaufman, April Monique Burril (Chainsaw Sally, Good Sisters), Monique Dupree (Satan Hates You, Spirit), Megan Sacco (Avantgarde), Amy Lynn Best (A Feast of Flesh, Splatter Movie), Rachel Grubb (Terror Overload, Strip Club Slasher), Brandon Slagle (Methodic, Mega Shark vs Crocosourus), David C. Hayes (Blood Moon Rising, Slices), Keith Collins (The Meat Puppet, Stuck in the Middle), Manoush (Amelie from Montmatre, Le Petite Morte), Gry Bay (All About Anna), Melany Denise (Westbrick Murders) and realitystars/celebritymodels Katrine Poulsen and Jessica Sky and many others. The role as Jimmy’s daughter is played by teenage talent Nicolette Michaela. Furthermore it contains brief cameos by Playboy models Angelina Leigh and Nikki Magnusson.
Jimmy Duncan at his adult age is played by the director Kim Sønderholm himself, while seven year old Jimmy is played by Danish child rapper/actor Toke Lars Bjarke who recently starred in Academy Award Winner/Golden Globe Winner for best foreign film 2011, In A Better World.

MOVIE SPOTLIGHT - "THE MEAT PUPPET"

1). meat puppet; (noun)
person(s) that have no will of their own; somebody that lets others control them. Another name for a human being, especially one who doesn't think for him/herself, has no soul and is therefore controlled by others).

Currently filming in New Jersey is this year’s new bone chilling horror/thriller “The Meat Puppet”. From the mind of Award Winning Actor Keith Collins, along with Silver Phoenix Entertainment, Valenti Vision Films and the pen of NY Emmy Award Winning writer Joseph Pepitone and Billy Pepitone (“Stuck in the Middle”) comes a sadistic thrill fest, full of twists and turns, that is sure to give movie goers the fright of their lives.

A vain, successful playboy tortures and kills beautiful girls and uses them to make the perfect meal for his lavish dinner parties. Body parts, blood, torture, cannibalism and NO escape are a few ways to describe this clever new terrifying and psychologically damaging creep show.

“The Meat Puppet” tells the story of Andrew “Drew” Shelton who has it all – looks, money, women and an insatiable taste for human flesh. His vanity is only surpassed by his obsession with finding the perfect tasting meal and it has fueled his appetite for killing, preparing and cooking beautiful women. He throws lavish dinner parties and serves his guests his latest victim and one unlucky guest becomes the main course of his next get together. When a no-nonsense detective starts putting the pieces together, it leads to a game of cat and mouse that only increases the stakes. But is Drew the soul-less, cold-blooded killer that he appears to be? Or is he just the Meat Puppet for a more sadistic mind?

Directed by Joe Valenti (“Echelon 8”). Produced by Keith Collins. Produced & Executive Produced by Blaze Kelly Coyle and Joe Valenti. Written by Joseph & Billy Pepitone. With a well-rounded cast including many special appearances and STARRING: Gregg Valentino (TLC’s “The Man Whose Arms Exploded”), Billy Sample (“Former NY Yankee”), Brandon Ruckdashel (“Co-ed Confidential”), Geri Reischl (“Gunsmoke”,“The Brady Bunch Variety Hour” aka Fake Jan), Jason Prager (“Beauty and the Geek”), Billy Garcia (“Survivor”), Gary Garver (“formerly from the Howard Stern Show”), Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (“Guns N Roses”), Erick Chopin (Winner of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser”), Keith Collins (“Stuck in the Middle”, “BIdentity Crisis”), Jamie Reed-Kovac (Fury – “American Gladiators”), April Hunter (“WCW”, "TNA"), Doug Bollinger (“Waltzing Anna”, “Mail Order Bride”),Theresa Galeani (“Cross the Line", "I am Legend”), John Fields (“A-List DJ Unique”), Anastasia Smith (“NY Majesty Lingerie Football League”) and Faith Stanek (“Star Trek Phase 2 Web Series”).
